The aim of this practical and pragmatic course is to provide you with the commercial awareness and knowledge required to help you through each step of negotiating, constructing, drafting and managing commercial contracts.

Exercises and case studies bring the subject matter to life and include: Identifying key elements of successful negotiations, Whose terms?; Proper Law of Contract; Identifying risks and prioritising risk management; Rights & obligations under a contract.

Lisa Cocksedge is a 21 year qualified solicitor who has comprehensive experience working in house. Upon qualification Lisa, worked in the telecoms industry for 13 years. She worked for Orange, Ericsson Limited and Quintel Telecommunications Limited. At Ericsson, Lisa was the Head of Legal for the UK. At Quintel, Lisa worked as a sole in house lawyer. In 2008 Lisa moved to Australia, where her work exposed her to the LNG and mining industry. Whilst in Australia, Lisa worked for Sandvik Mining and Construction Australia Pty Limited and CSC Australia Pty Limited.

Lisa is a fellow with the International Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM). Lisa is also trained as a CEDR and LEDR mediator.

Lisa has extensive experience in commercial contract law ranging from online terms and conditions, standard terms and conditions for sale and procurement, bespoke terms and conditions, master supply agreements, distribution agreements, content agreements, development agreements and bid management.
